Program Overview
The Santa Clara County Office of Education's Growing Gardens Community of Practice is a network of TK-12 educators, TOSAs (Teachers on Special Assignment), administrators, garden coordinators, maintenance and operations, after school garden education providers/staff, volunteers & Community Partners.
During this Community of Practice we will:
Collaborate and network with colleagues who support school gardens and/or outdoor learning spaces
Explore partnerships to create and maintain sustainable systems for school gardens and/or outdoor learning spaces
Share resources and ideas about the creative use of school gardens and outdoor learning spaces for both academic instruction and social emotional learning
Learn about the best practices for designing, developing and maintaining school gardens and/or outdoor learning spaces.
The Growing Gardens Community of Practice is a place for School Garden Teachers, Coordinators, Volunteers and Community Partners to come together and share best practices and resources for school gardens across Santa Clara County
Under the direction of Dr. Mary Ann Dewan, Santa Clara County Superintendent of Schools, Dr. Dilafruz Williams designed the Growing Gardens survey with support from Brooke Reimer. The survey was administered by the Santa Clara County Office of Education.
Dr. Dilafruz Williams undertook and completed this Growing Gardens Survey Analysis and Report, with assistance from Jivahn Moradian. Mike Bromberg provided graphic design support.
